Yes, all students from 3-year-old preschool to 8th grade wear uniforms for school. Our uniforms are provided by School Uniforms by Tommy Hilfiger. The uniform is as close as possible to the Dennis Uniform which has been used for the last 7 years. Additionally, our school has a uniform exchange where you can find gently used uniforms to wear at no cost.
St. John's students from grades preschool through 8th grade visit our spacious lunchroom daily. Lunch is 25 minutes for preschool-kindergarten and 20 minutes in grades 1-8. Students have many options for lunch - they can bring their own lunch, pay for a hot lunch through My Hot Lunchbox, as well take part in our milk program. We handle food allergies on an individual basis dependent on the severity of the allergy.
At St. John's, we believe a Catholic education should be available to every child. There are numerous options available in the form of grants thorough the school or through the Diocese for those with financial need. The grants from the school are provided though the generous donations of our parishioners. Gifts from the Diocese Catholic Education Fund (CEF) are awarded based on need and distributed from the Diocese to the school after your application is reviewed.
St. John's is a ministry of the Catholic Church and emphasize Catholic teaching, virtues and traditions. However, we value diversity and respect all faiths. Families from other faith backgrounds are a welcome part of our school community.
