St. John the Baptist Catholic School
Welcome to St. John the Baptist Catholic School, located in the heart of Winfield, IL. We are a family of 246 students from 3-year-old preschool to 8th grade. Each class is focused on an individualized education for every student, grounded in faith and supported by a strong community.
Our values unite us, whether we are in the classroom, on the playground or in the lunch line. This is who we are and why we are here. Every day, we are incorporating faith into the classroom, balancing challenging courses with a nurturing environment, collaborating with families, holding each other to a higher standard and looking ahead to a bright future!
Our teachers and staff work hard to prepare your child to excel academically, while also focusing on instilling Catholic values into their young hearts and minds, based on the teachings of Christ. This strong faith base provides the groundwork that will help with decision making and value setting throughout their lifetime.
The success of your child is the goal of every teacher at St. John the Baptist Catholic School. We provide loving and thoughtful encouragement to help them attain their full, God-given potential. As we get to know your child throughout their years at St. John's, we are able to customize their learning path. Our former students consistently achieve ahead of their peers in high school and college, and succeed in the world as well-rounded, faith-filled individuals!
As your child learns more, builds character, discovers talents and eventually changes the world, he or she will also begin to find new meaning in life through the structured beliefs and moral foundation of the Catholic Church. Our students develop an understanding that they belong to something bigger - and infinitely higher - than themselves. Our community of parents, staff, teachers and alumni are here to support your child every step of the way!
At St. John the Baptist, we not only teach to the highest standards, but also incorporate meaningful discussions about faith, morality and spirituality into everyday lessons, providing your child with an early opportunity to explore things about the world and themselves at a higher level.
“Coming to Saint John’s truly brought us together as a family. Having two daughters who thrive in academics, music, and theater, the support our children have received by teachers, staff, clergy, and other parents has been amazing. The feeling of community has been welcoming and allowed us to get more involved in our children's lives through the school and church."
“We feel so blessed to be at St. John the Baptist. The level of care, Catholic virtues and academic excellence that is taught to our children is a gift we know is helping to impact who they are becoming and where they’ll grow in life.”
Consider a different kind of school day for your child. A day that has learnings differentiated for your child. A day that has faith entwined in every subject. A day surrounded by a strong community focused on respect, kindness, faith-filled values, leadership and collaboration. This is a day at St. John the Batpist!
